MP Siobhan Baillie raises our local school transport issue in Parliament

For several years the parish council have been working closely with our local MP Siobhan Baillie on the issue of school transport.

We have been challenging the current GCC policy which we believe unfairly discriminates children in our parish.

Last week, Siobhan attended a transport-specific session in Parliament and spoke regarding the lack of home to school transport options within our parish.

Guy Opperman, the parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Transport), responded positively, and has agreed to meet with Siobhan and our County Councillor Stephen Davies to discuss matters further.

This is a significant step forward in our work to introduce viable home to school transport options for local children, and we are very grateful to our MP for raising this on our behalf.
